I recently planted three rose bushes in our garden in northern New Hampshire. I was told by local people to cover them for the winter. I put styrofoam buckets over them, and mulched them well. Will this be enough protection? |
That should work, but make sure the roses can "breathe". Are there openings in the styrofoam buckets? If not, cut a few openings in the sides, enough to let a bit of air in. There are other good, proven methods but it's a bit late for them. Ask again next year in October, or search the Q and A database for details. |
