I have bradford pear trees on my property right now. I will be moving to florida next year, and i wanted to know if this tree will thrive there? My new property is 5 acres close to the St johns river, and I believe that comes up as zone 9. I absolutely love every aspect of these trees, so if not would you please recommend another simmilar tree. I want to use them as a border line around my property.
thanks

LuAnn,

Bradfords will have a very difficult time in zone 9 due to a lack of winter chilling and the long intense summer heat. I would not waste the time and money to move it. You will find there are many other great trees for that area when you arrrive. Good luck with the trip!
