I HAVE 2 BEAUTIFUL INDIAN HAWTHORNS. I NOTICED IN THE CENTER OF THE TOP OF THE LEAVES THERE IS A WHITE SPACED BEADED LINE RUNNING FROM NEAR THE TIP TO THE STEM OF EACH LEAF. THIS IS THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE PLANT. IT LOOKS LIKE A MINIATURE GROUP OF WHITE EGGS. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S AN INSECT OR A DISEASE. PLEASE ADVISE ON HOW THIS SHOULD BE TREATED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE. JIM |
Jim, Very strange. I'm not sure I can picture what you are seeing. It may be a pest of some sort such as scale insects. I suggest that you take some leaves showing the damage to your County Extension Office and see if they can identify the cause of the damage. They would then be able to recommend an appropriate way to manage the problem if indeed such steps are needed. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
