Hello, I live in S. Fl and I have planted dwarf mondo grass in between slate stone in my courtyard. There is a fountain in the center. The mondo grass was doing ok until this summer and it seems to be dying off. I planted it over the past year little by little. I have started fertilizing with liquid Miracle Grow hoping to bring back the dark color. I don't know if I'm watering too much or not enough. It was planted in a sandy type soil as we layed the stone in the sand/rockysand but I planted the mondo with black dirt in each hole. Any info about this species would be grreatly appreciated. Thank you.

Mary,

It likes a lot of shade...no direct sun. It needs decent drainage so make sure the soil is not being kept soggy wet. If it continues to die I suggest you take a sample of a sick..not dead..plant to your County Extension Service to see what they can observe and diagnose. That way you can get to the bottom of the situation should time and proper care not turn the problem around.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
