| Kumquats, Limequats, and Mexican or Key Limes are particulary well suited to container gardening. Most citrus grown in Arizona is grafted on to a hardy rootstock. Select a variety grafted on to "Flying Dragon", which is a dwarfing rootstock. More and more varieties are becoming available on dwarf rootstock. If necessary, ask to have dwarf varieties special ordered for you. Check the tag to confirm that the tree is grafted on to dwarf rootstock. Do not purchase unless the rootstock is clearly identified and the tree is clearly labeled dwarf. Wait to plant citrus until after danger of frost damage has passed. |
