| This Hypericum dies back somewhat during the winter, possibly to the ground, so I would wait until spring to do any trimming as the branches provide a certain amount of protection. At that time you would remove the winter damage and tidy the plant as needed. You can also shear it back lightly after it blooms to encourage a second set of blooms later in the season.
