How can I get these beautiful plants (I have them as border plants--about 50 of them) to bloom again in the summer hot months? Should the flowers be trimmed off after blooming?

William,

You can trim the flowers off if you want to tidy up the plants a little, but such trimming is not required. Kalanchoes bloom primarily from winter to early summer.
