I am trying to find out the name of a periennial groundcover that has a decidely HEART shaped, rather thick almost waxy varigated leaf. It does well in shade and the more sun it gets, the more pink comes out in the leaves, marking it a tricolor. It has a white blossom in late June to July (or at least it did this year), has spread well and reached a height of about 12 |
Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon' is the name of the plant you've described. Monrovia's catalog describes it as: A terrific ground cover. Quick spreading perennial with erect stems holding heart-shaped, multi-colored leaves of gray-green, cream, carmine and gold. Full sun gives best coloration. Herbaceous. Full to partial sun. Fast-growing to 1 foot high, spread indefinite.
