Leyland cypress is an excellent choice for the site you describe. Naylor's Blue Leyland Cypress grows 30'-40' high and 10'-15' wide, with a pyramidal form. (Thick at the bottom, tapering upwards.) 'Castlewellan' grows 25'-40' high and 8'-10' wide with a narrow, upright form. Both are considered fast growing. Your ultimate choice will depend upon the size and shape of the view you want to block.
