The Q&A Archives: Hummingbirds good or bad?

Question: My question is that do hummingbirds benefit the plant or harm the plant.

Answer: Hummingbirds sip the nectar from flowers and in the process transfer pollen, which is good for the plant. In fact, both birds and flying insects have symbiotic relationships with flowers - something you'll want to encourage in your garden!
