Question: My 3 year old hydrangea does not flower. Is this normal?

Answer: It may be. In the meantime be sure it is in rich, well-drained soil. It will bloom best if it is planted in full sun. Offering it winter protection is required if it is one of the more tender varieties. <br><br>In the spring, cut the branches of the previous year's growth back to a single pair of buds. Weak and diseased branches should also be pruned out.
