I have a small pond covered with white water lilys. Some friends want to start some in their ponds. How can we take lilys from my pond and get them started in another?

Water lilies can be divided just like any other perennial plant; each division should have roots and at least one leaf (for photosynthesis). If the water lilies are in pots, simply unpot them and divide; if they're planted directly in the ground, dig them up and divide them, then replant the divisions in pots for your friends.
