The Q&A Archives: Yellow trumpet vine

Question: Dear Monrovia:

Yesterday, I saw two vine plants, labelled

Answer: There are some genetic differences in trumpet vines; the darker yellow (with tinges of orange) are quite common in yellow trumpet vines. If you want one with pure yellow blossoms, purchase one in bloom so you know exactly what you're getting rather than relying on the plant label. Best wishes with your garden!
