I'm looking for an ornamental tree to plant in a large planter next to my pool. It is the focal point of the pool. I'm not interested in palms. I need at least 5' from the ground to the canopy so not to block the view of the pool from inside the house. I need an evergreen without berries. Any suggestions? |
Edward, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. We are transitioning to a new Q&A system and your question was unfortunately lost in the transition. I have discovered it now and hope this reply is not too late to be of help. Trees in containers are challenges since the container needs to be very large to provide adequate soil volume and to not turn over easily in a wind. Some choices to consider are 'Little Gem' Magnolia, Texas Mountain Laurel, and possibly a 'Bright N Tight' Carolina Cherry Laurel (trimmed up to a single trunk) although this last one forms small black berries., Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
