The fruit of Pineapple Guava (Feijoa) ripens 4- 5 1/2 months after flowering. The best way to tell when fruit is ripening is to harvest after the first fruit drops from the tree. If there are many fruit on the tree, spread a tarp beneath it and give the trunk a shake. The ripe fruit will drop. Repeat every few days until all of the fruit drops. The fruits are oval, grayish green and 1-4 inches long.
