My back deck gets full sun from 10-11am until 6-7pm. I have tried containers of herbs, vegetables and several different blooming flowers and even ivy. I cannot get anything to survive an entire growing season. What types of plants would you suggest? |
Julie, Anything that likes sun should grow there. You might consider the following: Use a quality potting mix for good drainage and water holding ability. Select containers of adequate size such as 2 gallons or more for herbs and 5 gallons or more for tomatoes. Containers must have drainage holes. Water enough to keep the soil evenly moist, which may mean twice daily in summer. Fertilize with a soluble product following label instructions. Then choose the plants you want to grow and go for it! Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
