The Q&A Archives: Planting instructions for gardenias, bradford pear trees, and hydrangea.

Question: I would like to plant gardenias, hydrangeas, and bradford pear trees in the near future. I would like to know the instructions for planting each type of plant and when the best time to plant them would be.

Answer: Karen,

Let me also add that the gardenia and hydrangea should be fertilized with a product for acid loving plants starting a couple of months after planting. The pear needs very little fertilizing unless the tree really lack vigor which is unusual for a Bradford pear.
