2 Questions for you:
1. Can one get Italiam Cypress that does not grow taller than 8-10feet. We has some plant on the front of our house in front of columns put kept having to cut them back to be no higher than the house.
2. We are designing a pool patio with Italian feel. Have 3 columns on porch overhang before the pool and wanted some kind of vine we can grow from a large pot to grow up the columns and connect to each other. Would want something with little to no droppings that could get in the pool. Any suggestions?

Bob,

There isn't one that short. The SWANE'S GOLDEN ITALIAN CYPRESS reaches 15 to 20 feet tall. Perhaps a little pruning would be more feasible on that one. Another option would be a SKY PENCIL JAPANESE HOLLY.

For a vine that suits your interests you might consider Evergreen Wisteria or perhaps Star Jasmine.
