My pistachio nut tree is setting a good crop of nuts, but even though the shells reach mature size, the nut inside is shriveled and useless. What could be causing this and what do I do to correct it? |
If you just have one tree, your problem is with pollination. There are male and female pistachio trees, and in order to get nuts, you need one of each. "Peters" is the male variety most often planted, and "Kerman" is the female variety. You need at least one male, and then as many females as you have room for in your yard. |
