WHILE RECENTLY VISITING VACOUVER ISLAND, WE COULD NOT HELP BUT FALL-IN-LOVE WITH THE SEQUOIA GIGANTEA TREE. CAN YOU PROVIDE A PRICE ON THIS TREE? CAN YOU TELL ME IF IT IS SUITABLE TO GROW IN THE NOVA SCOTIA REGION? ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN PROVIDE WILL BE APPRECIATED. |
It appears you are in hardiness zone 6a. According to the Arbor Day web site, giant sequoia, Sequoiadendron giganteum, is hardy in zones 6 to 8, so you should be OK, at least hardiness-wise. The plant needs full sun and moist, acidic soils, so if you can provide it with these conditions, and you have room for a large tree, then give it a try.
