The Q&A Archives: chinese magnolia trees

Question: why are chinese magnolia trees so hard to find and how much do they run in cost?

Answer: Rena,

Chinese Magnolia is one of the common names for Magnolia soulangiana. Other common names are Saucer Magnolia and Japanese Magnolia. Monrovia grows a standard type and also two varieties Alexander and Black Tulip.

Check out the following web site. It has a box for you to enter your zip code and will then give you a list of local retailers that carry Monrovia plants. You will need to speak to a retailer about their price on one of these magnolias.
