Want to plant on our slope, but don't want to attract bees. Don't mind birds, have a pool below slope so don't want leaves falling. Would like privacy. Not even sure what zone we're in. Need all the help we can get. Slope is 75' x approx 20' at a 2:1 incline

It's difficult to find non-flowering plants that will grow on rocky, thin soils. Ornamental grasses, junipers and pachysandra are some choices. You may find other plants that appeal to you by checking out a copy of Sunset Western Garden Book. These are generally available in libraries or garden centers. Best wishes with your landscape!
