Hi there. I?ve been trying to find out what sort of herb was growing in my garden. I can't seem to find out anything about it. its a winter plant, it grew to a bit taller than a meter in height, it didn't have leaves as such, they were more like short, light green, pointy things and heaps of them. It smells really strong when you break it up into little peaces. If you could help me identify it, it would be much appreciated. Yours sincerely Ben Long. |
Unfortunately, based on your description I am unable to identify your plant. If it is an evergreen, it might be the culinary herb rosemary. This would smell (and look) the same as the dried rosemary sold in the grocery store. However there are many plants that could potentially meet this description, some would be edible and some would not. So I would strongly suggest you work with a knowledgeable nursery staff person to identify your plant with certainty before you use it for any purpose -- especially cooking. Best of luck with your quest! |
