The Q&A Archives: Red Yucca plants, do you cut off the flower stock in the fall

Question: I have 5 of your Red Yucca plants. The stalks on some look like they are drying out, the green is doing very well. Do you cut off the stalks in the fall? Will the stalks grow back?

Answer: As soon as the flowers fade, cut the flowering stalks down below the foliage level (as close as possible to where it emerges). Your plant will produce a new flowering stalk after it has rested and stored additional energy in its root system.
