| The short answer to your question is: Yes! Get them out of those poorly draining containers as soon as possible. You can safely transplant them now. Use standard one-gallon nursery containers and mix some potting soil or other organic matter into the soil before putting your plants in the containers. The organic matter will help loosen your garden soil and will ensure that the containers drain well. In the early spring plant your strawberries in their permanent bed. They can be left in the ground all year; just mulch over them next winter to help protect the crowns of the plants. |
