I have 6 David Viburnum shrubs planted together, and one of them has suddenly turned black and died. The other 5 are fine. Can you tell me what likely happened? |
Vallee, That is a difficult call. Sometimes for unknown reasons a plant gets weak, or was weaker to begin with and succumbs to a problem stronger plants resist. Wet soil, perhasp a poorly drained planting hole, or some type of root problem could cause the symptoms you described. If another starts to look sick contact your County Extension office to see how they can help get a diagnosis and appropriate recommended treatment. They can do best with a sick plant while dead plants are usually not diagnosable. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
