| I understand Cryptomeria japonica Black Dragon is quite irregular and rapid in growth, but I'm finding it difficult to get information on its typical size when full grown. | Cryptomeria japonica 'Black Dragon' is also known as Japanese Cedar. Japanese Cedars display thick, billowy foliage, and 'Black Dragon' is a striking fastigiate (narrow) selection which grows ultimately to 5-6 feet in height, becoming somewhat pyramidal with age. The needles are a rich dark green. In our experience Japanese Cedars grow best in acid, moist soil with some protection from winter winds. Hope this answers all your questions! |
