Is a blue prince holly suitable to pollenate a blue girl holly, or do you need a blue boy holly. I have not been able to find a blue boy.

Blue Boy would be preferred because you can be assured it will bloom simultaneously with the Blue Girl, the plants are also well matched for size, shape, color and so on. (Blue Prince and Blue Princess bloom simultaneously and are well matched.) I would suggest you wait and look for it in the spring when the selection should be wider. This is not all bad because fall is not really the optimal time to plant hollies anyway. If you have nearby neighbors with hollies, you may also find that there are already other male hollies close by to serve as a pollen source. Good luck!
