Why do I have nasty huge mushrooms growing in my potted plants? Should I worry about them? Are they killing the plants/flowers potted in those plants?

Michelle,

Those are most likely the fruiting structures of decomposer type fungi. As such they are not a concern for your plants. They will go away on their own, but if you like you can break them off to remove the above ground parts. Late summer to fall is prime time for seeing these fungi send up their mushrooms.
