The nursery here told me to plant two summit ash trees in my yard for patio shade. From what I've read, these seem way to large for my area.

One tree is planted 13' from foundation, 16' from vinyl fence.
The other tree is planted 22' from foundation, 6' from brick patio, 8' from vinyl fence.

Thank you

Fraxinus pennsylvanica Summit is a male tree with an upright pyramidal growth habit and a straight central leader. The slightly glossy dark green leaves turn an excellent yellow in autumn. It typically grows 45' high and 25' wide. You can prune to keep these trees smaller. Because of their potential mature size, I think yours are planted too close to the foundation of the house. I'd move them now, while they're still young!
