The Q&A Archives: using the seeds from spent flowers to grow more flowers

Question: Is it possible to use the seed from flowers that have finished blooming to start more flowers next year?

Answer: Roland,

Yes it is, from mosty types. Some produce seed that are not viable but most produce seed that will grow. Collect seed and allow them to dry for a week or so. Then store in a tighly sealed jar in the refrigerator until next year when you want to plant them.
