The Q&A Archives: prune fruit trees

Question: when are you supposed to prune apple trees?

Prune the trees in late winter prior to the start of blooms and new growth. A little trim here and there during the growing season to remove broken limbs or vigorous upright shoots that threaten to shade the interior of the tree.
