My husband and I just purchased our new home about a month ago...we have a large Yucca that stands about 5' high when not in bloom and close to 8' in bloom...we were fortunate to see the gorgeous white blossoms this year. My question is, the stalks that the blooms grow out of are quite unsightly and brown..do they need to be trimmed in order for the plant to keep blooming?

Congratulations on your new home! As soon as the flowers are spent, you can cut the flowering stalk down to below foliage level. Best wishes with your new landscape!
