I HAVE BOSTON FERNS THAT ARE VERY LARGE AND POT BOUND. WHAT CAN I DO TO REDUCE THE ROOTS OR SIZE OF THE PLANT? I DON'T WANT TO BUY NEW POTS.

You can lay the pot on its side and slide the root ball out of the pots. Then use a butcher knive to cut through the soil and roots to shape the root ball down to an acceptable size and then replant in the pots using some fresh potting soil around the roots. Water them in well and maintain even moisture. Fertilize after a couple of weeks with a soluble plant food at the label rate.
