I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD TRUMPETVINE PLANT THAT FLOWERED FOR THE FIRST TIME PROFUSELY THIS YEAR. ACTUALLY IT IS TWO TRUMPET VINES ONE ON EACH SIDE OF A ARBOR. ONE THE RED/ORANGE COLOR AND THE OTHER YELLOW. BUT JUST IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS IT HAS THINGS THAT LOOK LIKE BIG STRING BEANS HANGING OFF OF IT, WHAT ARE THESE? SEED PODS I HAVE LOOKED IN BOOKS AND ON WEB SIGHTS AND NO BODY MENTIONS THESE WHEN DESCRIBING THE TRUMPETVINE AND I HAD NEVER SEEN ANY OF THESE ON ONES THAT I HAD SEEN OVER THE YEARS EITHER. IF YOU HAVE A ANSWER I WOULD APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU

If all you see are strings, they are what remains after the flowers fade. If the strings are beginning to look like fat beans, your trumpet vines are developing seed pods. You can allow the seed pods to ripen and then collect the seeds and plant them, or you can simply allow them to hang on the plant.
