Do I cut down my bleeding heat down for the winter months?

This plant can be cut back in either the late fall once frost has killed the top growth, or in late winter/early spring. Most gardeners do the job in the late fall as part of their end of the season garden clean-up. If you wait to cut it back in the spring, be careful not to damage the new growth coming up from the ground.
