I have a crape myrtle that is 2 years old. Last summer it bloomed lavender flowers but no sign of flowers this year. The leaves look healthy. What can be the cause of this? Hope you can help. It's a mystery. |
Crepe myrtle blooms on new growth of the season, so pruning it in spring can help stimulate blooming wood. Make sure it has adequate fertility but do not overfertilize it. Also, full sun is really needed for crape myrtle to bloom its best. Try pruning it back in the early spring, just as new leaves begin to emerge, to stimulate new flowering wood. |
