Hello can you tell me if my plant can be planted with very little of no sun, I mean in a shaded area, I wanted to planted as along my fence (as a border plant), I live in Chicago and here the winter is extremely cold, but basically they'll be planted in a shaded area 'cause my fence is 7' tall. Thanks in advance.

Euonymus fortunei or wintercreeper euonymus grows well in sun or in shade, so any named variety of this plant should be fine. It may try to cling to and grow up on your fence as well as mound at the center as a semi-shrub. Please keep in mind that it will be semi-evergreen in your area, this means that although potentially evergreen in warmer climates in your area it will usually lose all or most of its foliage in the winter. Your local professional nursery staff can help you determine if you have a site suited to this plant, or if not, should be able to suggest substitutes based on a more detailed understanding of the growing conditions along your fence, and your design goals.
