| I planted several red-twigged dogwood shurbs four days ago according to the gardening center's directions. Have kept up with watering. Leaves have started to become very droopy and today really look sick. What did I do wrong? Thank you for your response. |
| If you followed the planting directions, you probably didn't do anything wrong - most plants go through an adjustment period after being transplanted. They can look pathetic, develop yellowing leaves and drop leaves while the roots are becoming established. They usually snap out of it in a week or two. While you're waiting for your redtwig dogwoods to perk up, simply water them deeply once each week until fall rains take over the task for you. By next spring your plants should be well established and leaf out right on schedule. Best wishes with your landscape! |
