We planted a windmill palm and we think we overwatered it at first. The branches have all turned brown. We are not sure if it is dead. Is there anyway to save this palm tree? |
If it was planted in poorly draining soil, or if you kept the soil too moist, your palm may be suffering from root rot. If so, there's not much you can do to save it. However, you might try simply watering less to see if the palm will recover. If the roots are only stressed and not rotted, they may recover enough to produce new growth. If the fronds are completely dead, cut them off, then wait for new growth to appear. You may be pleasantly surprised. Hope so! |
