Agapanthus africanus is only considered hardy into zone 8, and your zip code places you in 6A or the coldest part of zone 6, so you will have to bring it into a sheltered place. I hope you have kept it in a container this summer. You can try to overwinter it in a bright but cool location (say about 45 degrees.) Keep the soil just barely damp. Do not overwater as this can cause the roots to rot while it is resting. Also, do not fertilize it while it is inside. Next spring when the weather begins to settle take it back outside again. Good luck!
