The Q&A Archives: Sandalwood

Question: I was wondering if it was possible to grow a sandalwood plant indoors in Michigan?

Answer: Sandalwood trees are not suitable houseplants. They are parasitic, in that their roots derive some water and nutrients by attaching themselves to the roots of other trees. They grow well in communities of like species, but will not grow solo, even under greenhouse conditions. Sorry!
