What can I do to save my plant? The leaves are getting yellow and falling. It flowered only once and the flower fell off. It doesn't look very healthy. Please let me know what to do. I appreciate your thoughts. |
Pomegranates are deciduous plants so its natural for them to lose their leaves in the fall and for the branches to remain bare until spring. For this reason, they do not make attractive houseplants. These trees are hardy to about 0 degrees so you may be able to plant yours outdoors and protect it over the winter months by placing hay bales around it and covering the top with floating row cover. Aside from that, you can grow pomegranate trees in a greenhouse over the winter months where the light is bright and the temperatures remain about 60F. The trees need the lower temperatures while they're dormant but will take warmer daytime temperatures during the spring months. Wish I had happier news for you! |
