I live in Fairview, Texas, north of Dallas. Would the Majestic Beauty Indian Hawthorne grow well in our summer heat and in our clay soil? Is the Majestic Beauty available in the north Dallas area? I would use it to screen my back yard from the neighbor's yard. Any information you can provide will be appreciated. Jim Fritze

Jim,

Yes it would do well in your area. Give it a soil with some compost mixed in to the surface 4-6 inches (not just the planting hole) and mound the planting be slightly to insure good drainage. Fertilize in spring and summer with 1 cup per 50 feet of soil surface area. Water in well after fertilizing. Mulch the soil surface to hold moisture and deter weeds.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
