| I recently bought 2 of your everbloomimg gardenias. I put them in pots with good potting soil then watered. The leaves are turning yellow and black on one of them. I have had gardenias before and did ok. What am I doing wrong. Are they in shock from being transfered? pam dorrance [email protected] |
| Pam, Summer transplanting is stressful for a plant. The key is to not damage the roots and to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet. Both soil moisture extremes are very damaging. Dig down a few inches around the root ball to feel the soil to see when it needs watering. Try to keep the soil evenly moist and in time they should pull out of it and be fine if the initial damage was not too severe. It may also be helpful to move the containers into a morning sun only spot to reduce stress while they try to recover. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
