Can the Mimosa be pruned? I am planting a tree in my front yard but want to control the size.

You can control the size of a mimosa with pruning. Wait until early spring, just as the buds begin to swell on the branches. Cut them back by about one-third, trying to cut just in front of a bud scar. This is where new growth will develop. Eventually your mimosa will develop a full canopy and you should be able to maintain the size with some selective pruning. Best wishes with your tree!
