| Yes I asked you a question the other day about some seeds and bulbs that I have. I guess I didn't understand what you said. I have seeds for mexican hat, yucca. You said to plant them in the spring is that correct. Or to start them inside. to be ready for spring. I also have seeds for butterfly pinchusion,dwarf goblin, gayfeather lavender, white fountain grass, lambs ear, rose of sharon, dwarf mouse ear nana, clematis nelly moser. All said to start now for the spring but I'm not sure of this because I'm afraid the winter might kill the seed and I don't want to waste these seeds. I know I'm asking alot of you but I would like to get these started the right way to get a start on my flower garden. Please help me with the answer to my question. | Because you live in a cold winter region, I'd advise against sowing the seeds outdoors now. They may be lost in heavy rains or snow melt. Instead, I would store the seeds over the winter months and plant them in the spring. You can either sow them directly outdoors in the garden in the spring, or you can start the seeds indoors so the little plants will be ready to be planted in the garden in the spring. If you start your seeds indoors, you can start them about 6 weeks before spring weather begins. In your region, you can start the seeds indoors in February and the little plants will be ready to go outdoors in April. If you plan to sow the seeds directly in the garden, you can sow them in late April. Hope this answers your question! |
