I have an Australian tree fern planted in my garden according to the potter specifications. The tree is approximately 6ft high. The tree was replanted two years ago.

As the young leaves fold out, the tips start turning brown and eventually die.

What might the possible cause be?

Thank you for your time.

Andries,

Possible causes of browning fronds include dry soil, poor drainage (soggy wet), burn from fertilizer or injury from some chemicals sprayed on or around the plants. One additional possibility is that the area gets too much sun, especially hot, late day sun.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
