The Q&A Archives: Year round flower

Question: I would like to no what kind of flowers that will do well in partial sun under a tree and bloom in the winter. Also in front of my house I planted mini roses and hosta, what else could I put to bring colour to the front that would come back year round. I live in Georgia.

Answer: Lisa,

There are not many flowers that fit that set of conditions in your zone. The best bets would be the ornamental cabbage and kale which are not flowers but colorful foliage. Other options include pansy, viola and Johnny Jump Up.

For a good list of perennial flowers for Georgia check out the following web site. It will offer more ideas than I can fit in this brief reply.
