| Lavender plants tend to get a little woody as they get older. You can prune the plants back in the spring when they start to put on new growth. You can either shear the plants or you can selectively remove some of the stems from each plant at the soil line. Lavender is usually forgiving and is a reasonably vigorous grower, so as long as you don't cut it down so hard you leave only a few inches of plant, you'll be rewarded with lots of flower spikes from nice, bushy plants. |
